The look of liquid mercury and the excitement of a full Peruvian grey suri awaits your breeding program with Mercury Rising. He is the son of Angelinn, a beautifully locked 6Peruvian Rufino daughter and Reserve Champion at the 2002 MaPaca Jubilee, the largest alpaca show in North America. His sire is 5Peruvian Silver King, a medium silver grey full Peruvian stud out of a full Peruvian rose Grey dam, who has produced several greys. Mercury's high luster grey color, defined lock structure, and su...

OLC Peruvian Biscotti - Great Production Dam

1/2 Accoyo, Great disposition, easy to handle

OLC Peruvian Biscotti - Great Production Dam

Suri, Female, Proven, Dark Fawn, Full Peruvian
ARI# 30026258 | DOB: 10/15/2005
We purchased Biscotti from Alan's mom, OLC Farms, because she is a beautiful daughter of our top herd sire, Jimbobway. Both her sire and dam are 1/2 Accoyo bloodlines. Triscuit is a Macgyver daughter, and Jimbobway's sire is Accoyo Joselo from Alpacas of America. Biscotti was never shown only because her owner was not interested in showing her alpacas. Biscotti has great conformation and is a well-proportioned large female weighing about 170 lbs. when open. She is an easy keeper with a wonderfu...

When you come to visit our farm, Kalahari will be the first run up to you for attention. She just can't wait to see new people. She is calm, gentle, and affectionate, and we don't have to worry about her kicking or spitting around kids and adults. Most times she will just kush and let people pet her. She is the favorite of my husband, and she searches him out whenever he is in the area. While Kalahari is friendly to everyone, she seems to have a special bond with Alan. She is truly unique and could easily qualify for a "Service Animal" certification.

Kalahari and her mom, Biscotti, still have that special bond, too. They are together in the fields, and still lay and sleep side-by-side routinely. It was truly unique situation when Kalahari's sister, Coalista, was born and became septic on day 2 of her life. Coalista spiked a high fever and then had seizures, and she was never "normal" after that time. Coalista became a "special needs" alpaca, as she had poor eyesight (she actually went blind, then recovered some of her sight), and she never developed the sense of "herd" or "personal space" so important in the alpaca world. Kalahari would look out for her, and at night you would see Biscotti and her 2 daughters all laying side by side in the paddock or in the barn. Biscotti and Kalahari would go look for Coalista and lay next to her. Many times, Coalista was unaware of the movement of the rest of her group, and she would be oblivious to the fact that the rest of her group (about 20 females) had left her to come up to the barn. Kalahari would run up to us, then back to Coalista, then back to us, until we went to get Coalista and bring her up. Kalahari and Biscotti would not come up from the pasture without her, and would stay with her. It was amazing to see - kinda like watching the old time "Lassie" shows when Lassie the dog would go find people to alert them of some situation.

Kalahari has been a special part of our life, and she continues to "give back" to us and visitors. Kalahari has never been bred, as she has her special place in life with her unique personality.

Come visit the farm, and we will introduce you to Kalahari, the truly amazing alpaca ambassador and friend.
