Health Requirements
Identification Requirements for ALL Alpacas:
- All papers will be examined at check in.
- In accordance with the AOBA Show Rules, all alpacas entering the venue for the MAPACA 2008 Jubilee must be micro-chipped. The Alpaca's name and Micro-Chip ID# of each alpaca must appear on the Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) (Health Certificate). Please bring an extra copy of the CVI with you to give to the Show Superintendent who will keep it as part of their permanent show records. And remember to keep one copy with you for your travels home after the show.
Alpacas from within Pennsylvania:
- A Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) which is dated MARCH 29th or later for ALL alpacas, regardless of age, completed and signed by a licensed Veterinarian from Pennsylvania within 30 days of the last day of the show.
- Alpacas must have a negative PCR test or VI lab test for Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus. There is no time frame for either test, since one test is sufficient for the life of the alpaca. The negative result shall be indicated on the CVI- Certificate of Veterinary Inspection. A copy of the CVI will be maintained by the Show as part of our permanent records.
Alpacas from out of the State of Pennsylvania:
- A Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) which is dated MARCH 29th or later for ALL alpacas, regardless of age, completed and signed by a licensed Veterinarian from the state of origin within 30 days of the last day of the show.
- Alpacas, 12 months of age or older, shall be brucellosis-test negative no more than sixty (60) days prior to the event.
- Alpacas, 12 months of age or older, shall be tuberculin-test negative no more than ninety (90) days prior to the event.
- Alpacas must have a negative PCR or VI lab test for Bovine Viral Diarrhea Virus. There is no time frame for either test, since one test is sufficient for the life of the alpaca. The negative results shall be indicated in the CVI-Certificate of Veterinary Inspection. A copy of the CVI will be maintained by the Show Superintendent as part of our permanent records.
