Farm location: Hancock, NY (near both I-88 and Rt 17/I-86; 40 miles east of Binghamton on the Pennsylvania border)
Our entire herd makes its home with Hilltop Alpacas in Hancock, NY, owned by Scott and Ann Young and Bill and Kathy Young.
"Calidad" means quality in Spanish, and superior quality is what drives our breeding program. With every breeding decision we make at Calidad Alpacas, our goal is to produce exceptionally sound, vigorous offspring with truly superior fleece characteristics, especially long-lasting fineness, soft handle, low CV, and brightness.
The breeding males we have either acquired or produced in our own breeding program have been carefully chosen for their ability to pass on to their sons and daughters the capacity to produce elite fleece well into their adult lives.
Our foundation females are handpicked as carefully as our herdsires. Many have taken championships and blue ribbons at major shows. The alpacas we have for sale are some of the best--and they come bred to the best as well.
Bloodlines represented in our herd include Hemingway, Accoyo Legacy, Accoyo Victor, Coyo Destini, Accoyo Grand Master, Caligula, Presidio, Barnabus, Jericho/Dakotia/Bueno, Microsoft, Accoyo The Last Don, Accoyo Powerball, Accoyo Armando/Allin Capac, Altiplano Gold, Drake, Penumbra, and Sinopsis Nocturna.
