Alpacas and farms in:
— The MAPACA Team
It started with yarn. Kathy loves to knit, so when we visited the Lucketts’ Fair we stopped at the yarn vendor. The alpaca yarn was lovely, soft, and totally irresistible. Without even realizing it, we had found our plan for retirement! We started as a one-alpaca farm – our Macaria lived at Bear Garden Farm in West Virginia. When her first cria was born we named her Esperanza, which means “hope”. Since then we’ve purchased another female and have had several more cria, so our little herd has grown! We’ve learned a lot about the care of alpacas. We’ve helped with shearing, and Kathy has learned to spin her own yarn. She’s weaving rugs and shawls, and knitting baby bootiesBest of all -- we have just moved to our very own farm! We LOVE spending time in the barn and pastures, and getting acquainted with the alpacas. Come visit! The Sugar Shack (farm store) is open!
We're glad that you found us on the web. Please take a look at our sales lists and enjoy learning more about our farm. We welcome your inquiries and questions!
