About Us
In the summer of 2014, I was searching for fun activities to enjoy with my kiddos when I stumbled upon a local alpaca farm. From the moment I arrived, I was completely smitten. Standing in a pasture full of what I can only describe as teddy bears, I was instantly captivated by their adorable faces, big warm eyes, and unbelievably soft fleece. It was one of those moments where you think, “I want one… actually, I want two.”
There was only one small obstacle—convincing my husband. After many hours of research and a little persuasive pleading, he was on board, and just like that, our alpaca adventure began.
A few years later, we purchased our farmhouse on ten acres, and Walnut Ridge Acres Alpaca Farm was officially established. We welcomed our first two alpacas in 2014, and our herd has continued to grow ever since. Our focus is on actively improving our breeding program while diversifying and strengthening our herd’s genetics.
We truly enjoy harvesting and working with our alpacas’ amazing fiber. In addition to creating products, we sell our raw fiber to state affiliates and cooperatives, helping support the broader alpaca community.
In 2022, we were excited to move our farm to a larger property, where we look forward to many wonderful years at our new home and continuing to grow and improve our herd.
Meeting new breeders and educating others about the incredible alpaca industry is always a joy. We love sharing our passion and helping others discover just how special these animals truly are.
